2. Nearly 400,000 Vietnamese sellers enter the Southeast Asian market through Shopee
It is reported that with the change of global consumer behavior and the acceleration of digital trade, Vietnam is taking advantage of the wave of cross-border e-commerce to release new momentum for its export industry.
In recent years, the number of companies engaged in online exports in Vietnam has increased dramatically, reflecting the country's rapid digital transformation. Data shows that as of now, nearly 400,000 Vietnamese sellers sell goods through the Shopee International Platform (SIP).
They have launched more than 15 million products to markets such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan, achieving a monthly sales growth of 20-30%.
Amazon Global Sales also established operations in Vietnam in early 2019, providing local companies with the expertise needed for global sales. Since then, the number of Vietnamese companies with annual sales of more than $1 million on Amazon has surged tenfold.
3. The Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue has filed lawsuits against several Chinese people
To strengthen the fight against tax leakage and illegal trade, the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is comprehensively upgrading its enforcement actions, focusing on smuggling and tax evasion in the fields of e-cigarettes and tobacco.
This series of actions is part of the Marcos government's "whole-of-government mobilization" anti-smuggling strategy, aimed at curbing the circulation of illegal products and protecting public finances and people's health.

Romeo Lumagui Jr., director of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, stressed that many untaxed or unidentified cigarettes and e-cigarettes have entered the market without inspection, posing serious safety risks. The tax bureau has currently launched raids on several illegal factories and warehouses and has successively destroyed the untaxed goods seized.
Recently, Philippine President Marcos personally supervised the destruction of 3.2 billion pesos of smuggled e-cigarette products. In the past few weeks, the Bureau of Internal Revenue has seized up to 6.3 billion pesos of illegal cigarettes and filed tax evasion lawsuits totaling 8.5 billion pesos against several Chinese nationals and related companies.
