Three Major Warehouses in Thailand Were Inspected

On September 17, 2024, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Thailand and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Thailand jointly held a press conference, announcing that a case of illegal imports from China had been uncovered recently.
In this operation, a total of about 7,300 electric mosquito repellent products and 32,627 pieces of 45 types of illegal cosmetics were seized, with a total value of 2.5 million baht.
The operation originated from the coordination of the FDA with the Consumer Protection and Crime Fighting Department to investigate the electric mosquito repellent products sold on the online platform without Thai labels and product registration numbers.
FDA tests found that these mosquito repellent products contain a variety of harmful substances and are not allowed to be imported. Therefore, on the 13th of this month, multiple departments jointly searched three suspicious warehouses in Bangkok's Pakkunlun, Wankeng and Mankuntian, and seized a large number of illegal mosquito repellent products.
The investigation found that after these products were imported from China, they were stored in different locations and waited for orders to be packaged and shipped, adopting the e-commerce "storage-packaging-shipping/Fulfillment" operation model. The import price of each mosquito repellent product is 5-8 baht, while the selling price is 10-20 baht.
FDA officials reminded consumers to choose products with Thai labels and clear registration numbers when purchasing. Although these illegal products themselves have no serious problems, they are unregistered and enter the market, lack after-sales guarantees, and pose safety risks.
