TikTok Shop Launches "No Longer Needed" Return Policy

Jayson 27 Aug 2024 11:14

Starting from August 27, 2024, TikTok Shop Southeast Asia will implement a new return policy, allowing buyers to apply for returns for the reason of "No Longer Needed".

This policy applies to cross-border orders in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The shipping and return shipping costs are borne by the buyer. Such returns will not affect the seller's store indicators. It is worth noting that TikTok Shop will monitor the behavior of buyers and may suspend buyers from using this function once they find abuse of return rights.

According to the new return policy, buyers can apply for returns for the reason of "no longer needed" within a certain time frame based on different order types and countries.

The following are the specific return time limits: Mall orders: within 15 days after the order is delivered; Vietnam and Malaysia: within 15 days after the order is delivered; Thailand: within 7 days after the order is delivered. Philippines and Singapore: within 6 days after the order is delivered.

If the merchant receives goods in poor condition that do not meet the return conditions, they can file a complaint through the Seller Center within the specified time, and the platform will handle the complaint results within 3 to 7 natural days.

Certain categories of goods may not support returns for the reason of "no longer needed", including but not limited to: beauty and personal care products (such as electric shavers, electric toothbrushes, etc.); computers and office equipment (such as surveillance cameras, laptops, etc.); household appliances (such as kitchen appliances, etc.); food and virtual goods, etc.

Note: The platform will adjust the return policy according to actual conditions, and merchants should check the specific product information and return restrictions on the product details page in a timely manner.
