According to Malaysian media reports, the country's External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) has partnered with TikTok Shop to expand cross-border business prospects through the #ThisisMY campaign.

Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the launch of the program will enable Malaysian dealers, entrepreneurs and companies to enter Singapore.

The #ThisisMY campaign will be launched on August 8 to celebrate ASEAN Online Sales Day, an annual event to encourage e-commerce activities within ASEAN.

The program has attracted the attention of domestic Malaysian brands, including Julie's Confectionary & Biscuit, Power Root's Alicafe Coffee and Oriental's Super Ring Cheese Snack.

Zafrul said: “#ThisisMY will launch a series of exciting activities, including knowledge sharing sessions and cross-border e-commerce training, to assist at least 30 Malaysian companies to generate sales of RM15 million.”

Meanwhile, Matrade Chairman Dato’ Seri Rizal Merican Naina Merican said: “We are delighted to partner with TikTok Shop, one of the world’s largest social commerce platforms, to effectively assist more local Malaysian businesses and lead them to greater success on the global stage.”

Additionally, TikTok Shop Malaysia Head of Public Policy Anuar Fariz Fadzil said: “We are committed to nurturing the growth of local Malaysian businesses. Through this partnership, we aim to help them realize their full potential on the platform so that they can expand their business and reach new heights.”
